Sixteen鶹ýӳstudentshavesuccessfully completed theGlobal Citizenship Challenge(GCC) co-hosted bytheUniversity of Torontoand 鶹ýӳ.The program was anintensive experience in team-building and problem solving for motivated students to take onwater scarcity– an unsolved problem affecting our global community.Through case studies, class discussions and research, the studentsthoroughlyresearched the issue from multiple perspectives and brainstormed with teammates to explore the complex social, economic and environmental reasons forthelack of safe water supply.Each participant created their own solution,thenexplained and defended their approach in a “Town Hall” style debate in the final class.Anotherbenefitfor 鶹ýӳ studentsparticipating in this special program was having access to Quercus, UofT’s learning hub! Quercusis an online teaching and learning systemexclusiveto UofTstudents,faculty,and staff,but 鶹ýӳ students couldget a taste of it beforegettinginto university!Friday, July 30thwasthe last day of the programand鶹ýӳ studentswere excited to goto St. George campus to receivetheUniversityof TorontoGlobal Citizenship Challenge Certificates!
